French Quarter in the Summer

New Orleans, LA ~

If you visit New Orleans, you will most likely end up in the French Quarter at some point. These photos are a glimpse of the storefronts and residential areas of the Quarter. What is hard to capture in photos is the incredibly tight space in which things are situated. I had to squat across the street and aim my camera to the sky in order to get a full shot of most buildings. Many of these buildings are beautifully preserved. However, if you wander farther off the grid, you will see many structures that are not so well kept. As a side note, you should always know where you are going while in New Orleans – wandering can be dangerous! Just saying.

Being in the French Quarter always feels like you’ve stepped backed in time. There’s something about the music, the curvature and intricacies of the buildings that transcends eras and magically puts you in a wonderfully mystic world. I love your photos, Liz.
