International Spy Museum

April 30, 2018 by E. Casa de Calvo

Washington, D.C. ~ I highly recommend visiting the International Spy Museum. This was one of the most fascinating museums I’ve been to in a while. Sure, art and culture are all around D.C. (for free), but this museum is totally worth paid admission, which is reasonable. I personally have an interest in the history of intelligence practices, and in the cultural and political forces that shape our world today. Fundamentally, people are people, and will go to great lengths for […]

National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden

April 30, 2018 by E. Casa de Calvo

Washington, D.C. ~ If you are in the D.C. area, you should stop by the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden. The onsite Pavilion Café isn’t too shabby either. My favorite sculpture has to be the “Entrance to the Paris Metro” by Hector Guimard. The Typewriter Eraser is also pretty cool.

Cherry Blossoms

April 16, 2018 by E. Casa de Calvo

Washington, D.C. ~ Captured these beauties while strolling through D.C., mainly around the national mall and monuments. I was fortunate to have visited at the beginning of the spring bloom. Also very lucky to have had perfect weather. Overall, it was a perfect visit!

The Guenther House

December 23, 2013 by E. Casa de Calvo

San Antonio, TX ~ The Guenther House is a beautifully restored home belonging to Carl Guenther, founder of Pioneer Flour Mills (est. 1898). The home is located in downtown San Antonio on the San Antonio River. This property also contains a museum and restaurant. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is amazing. These photos were taken on a holiday visit with family. The lines were long, but that just goes to show how great the experience is.
