St. Louis Cemetery No. 1

New Orleans, LA ~

If you make your way to New Orleans, the St. Louis Cemeteries are a must see. These cemeteries are said to be the oldest of its type – with above ground tombs. There are many famous people buried here, including Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau. I’m sure it is just a coincidence, but after passing her grave and making light of it, I came down with a flu bug a couple of days later. Perhaps I was being taught a lesson by Ms. Laveau… or not. This set of photos was taken with a disposable camera. I don’t typically enhance photos, but these were adjusted due to the poor quality of the originals. You will notice unusually bright hues and tints, for an extra spooky quality.
