Chapel of the Holy Cross | Sedona, AZ

March 28, 2020 by E. Casa de Calvo

The cross sits at the top of a hill, and is built within the red rock cliffs. The hill top offers a spectacular view! I was warned that the cactus (seen in this set) spits needles at you if you get too close. Another tidbit: the architect who designed the chapel was also a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. A beautiful place of reflection.

Marg’s Draw Trailhead | Sedona, AZ

December 29, 2018 by E. Casa de Calvo

Beautiful hiking trail, roughly 4 miles. I visited in the summer, and really underestimated the heat. The dry heat sneaks up on you! It was still an amazing hike. I highly recommend it for beginners like me.

San Xavier is a Spanish Colonial Catholic mission founded by Father Eusebio Kino in 1692. It is the oldest intact European structure in Arizona. The interior is filled with beautiful paintings, murals, and statues. The architectural design throughout is breathtaking!

San Xavier Mission Grounds | Tuscon, AZ

September 22, 2018 by E. Casa de Calvo

San Xavier Mission is a historic landmark located on the Tohono O’odham Nation San Xavier Indian Reservation, 9 miles south of downtown Tucson, Arizona. These photos are of the surrounding grounds. After visiting the mission, you can take a walk up the hill to view the grotto, or visit the gift shop and food stand across the street.
