The historic MKT Depot is located at 501 S. Rogers St. Waxahachie, TX 75165. Restoration was completed in 2010. Prior to that the depot was a stop on the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT) rail line until 1964, primarily hauling cotton to local markets. Boyce Feed Store is located across the street from the depot. The feed store sells what you would expect (animal feed), but also has very cute shabby chic home decor and country ready clothing.

The Ellis County Courthouse is located at 109 S. Jackson St, Waxahachie, TX 75165. This historic structure has been fully restored and is operational. You’ll need to visit in person to see the amazing architectural details, such as the gargoyles, carved faces on the columns, and granite stone at the base. If you stop by during the day you can even take a free tour.

One of my favorite places to be! The people are nice, the stores are unique, and there is history at every turn. Each building has an original style and most are very well maintained. Anyone who loves antiquing should consider a visit.
