Sedona, AZ ~ Beautiful hiking trail, roughly 4 miles. I visited in summer, and really underestimated the heat – the dry heat sneaks up on you! It was still an amazing hike. I highly recommend it for beginners like me.

Tuscon, AZ ~ San Xavier is a Spanish Colonial Catholic mission founded by Father Eusebio Kino in 1692. It is the oldest intact European structure in Arizona. The interior is filled with beautiful paintings, murals, and statues. The architectural design throughout is breathtaking!

Tuscon, AZ ~ San Xavier Mission is a historic landmark located on the Tohono O’odham Nation San Xavier Indian Reservation, 9 miles south of downtown Tucson, Arizona. These photos are of the surrounding grounds. After visiting the mission, you can take a walk up the hill to view the grotto, or visit the gift shop and food stand across the street.

Riviera, TX ~ These photos were taken while on a drive to the country side. If you happen to live in these parts, you’ll know that everywhere is technically the “country side.” Either way, this was one of those afternoon drives where we went off of the main highway just to see what we could find. The Our Lady of Consolation church is located south of Kingsville, TX on Country Road 628. This church has a fascinating history; established around […]

Lubbock, TX ~ The center covers a lot of ground; over twenty acres. You can take a mini journey thorough the ranching history of the area by touring restored structures (homes, barns, schoolhouses, etc.). The tour begins with a dirt floor structure, and ends with a modern day structure. It is a walk through time. Some structures are even open for exploration.

Carlsbad, NM ~ Carlsbad is a neat place, but somewhat out of the way. If planning to visit, it would be best to anticipate spending the entire day, or more, here. The cavern tours can take hours depending on how far you’d like to walk. You certainly wouldn’t want to rush that, not that you could – them caves are slippery! I also enjoyed walking around outside. There are many interesting exhibits about the history of the land, the local plant/animal […]
