Wintertime | Winona, MN

December 14, 2016 by E. Casa de Calvo

This is Winona in the winter. This particular winter was mild, or so they say. As a Texan, all Minnesota winters are brutal to me. The aerial views were taken from E. Garvin Heights Rd., where you can drive all the way to the top of a bluff and see the entire city spanning the Mississippi. The ducks are swimming near the Winona Visitor’s Center, situated right on Lake Winona. The remaining city street pictures were taken from the Blue […]

Fuel Station | Ropesville, TX

May 24, 2012 by E. Casa de Calvo

Ropesville is located about 30 minutes southwest of Lubbock, TX. These photos were taken from a gas station located right off of the highway. This was a common stopping point on road trips. There isn’t anything too impressive about this particular gas station, but what did impress me was the scale, everything seems bigger in Texas!

Texas Tech University | Lubbock, TX

May 20, 2012 by E. Casa de Calvo

One of Lubbock’s trademarks is its flat land. Whenever it rains, flash flooding is a problem due to poor drainage (again, a product of extremely flat land). If you were unfortunate enough to be caught walking during a shower, expect to get soaked, even with an umbrella. After a few minutes it will feel like you are walking through inches of water. These pictures were taken on a rainy day, thus the fond memories of Lubbock rain.
