This is Winona in the winter. This particular winter was mild, or so they say. As a Texan, all Minnesota winters are brutal to me. The aerial views were taken from E. Lake Travis is about 40 minutes west of Austin, TX. These pictures where taken while visiting the Lakeway Resort and Spa. This was a quick weekend getaway. It is a wonderful place to just relax.

I have many great memories of good people and good times. The quiet times were also enjoyable; many peaceful strolls along the beach and even a little bit of swimming. I can’t tell you how nice it is to swim in a large body of water without worrying about critters. The Great Lakes are grrreat!

I truly regret not getting more photos of the homes and buildings on this island. I was having too much fun I guess. This is one of the most beautiful getaways I’ve ever been on. Most travel is done by bike, buggy, or foot, which means a lot of exercise and outdoor time. The historic element is amazing. It is as if the town is preserved in time, a pristine reflection of the Victorian era.
